Transparency

Transparency depicts a nocturnal shoreline scene, framed by the delicate, almost graphic structures of bare winter branches. Against the deep blue of the sky, the brightly illuminated twigs form a filigree network and open the view toward the still surface of the water in the background. Isolated reflections from the distant city shimmer on the water and lend the scene a calm, almost meditative atmosphere.

The work draws its strength from the contrast between darkness and light, openness and density. The branches feel both protective and permeable, like a natural curtain that both reveals and limits the view. This creates a poetic tension between nearness and distance, reality and memory.
